The National Medical Products Administration released the Guidelines of National Medical Products Administration on Drug Information Traceability System Construction (GYJYG (2018) No.35) on October 31, 2018 and provided a clear guidance on the establishment of drug information traceability system.

Take the implementation of enterprise’s entity responsibility as the basis and the realization of “unique code for product, simultaneous tracing of product and code” as the orientation, accelerate the construction of drug information traceability system, strengthen the exchange and sharing of traceability information and realize whole-variety and whole-process tracing;

The production enterprises, managing enterprises and using units shall establish the drug traceability system by information means, timely and accurately record and store the drug traceability data, form the interconnection drug traceability data chain, and trace the source and orientation in the whole process of drug production, circulation and use;

Effectively prevent illegal drug into legal channel; ensure that the drug with quality safety risks can be recalled and investigated.
